There is no doubt prices on everything have went up but it is amazing how much that grinder went up after Silvey shut down.

Yep it is. I believe it’s more recent than that even. I think Silvey had been shut down for quite a few years when I bought mine in 2016 or so. Bailey’s and Madsens both had the 451C but Bailey’s was offering $10 shipping so got it from there. Not certain what they are now but it’s probably 50% higher

Somewhere around here I have one of the last Madsens catalogs that listed all the Silvey grinders.....it is here somewhere. all I could locate was a 2016.

I remember when the Simington was $459.95 and the Razur Sharp II was $525.95 near to when it first came out.

I am not sure when Bailey's first started producing catalogs but I know I have a early one here. Of course finding it is a different story. I am not sure if it was Bailey's or Madsens but one of them put an ad in their catalogs probably 15 years ago asking if anyone still had old original catalogs. I assume they wanted to digitize them but I am not sure if it ever happened.
