Same here, I would sooner pound my balls flat with a hammer than willfully listen to his garbage ever again.

The muffler cover I spent a day making three days before they released the bark box cover for the MS500i

Couple of Husqvarna 359 mufflers i modified recently.

Painted both with some VHT paint and baked in the oven.

Aftermarket, baffle removed in the center, 3/4 outlet. Loud and throaty as expected. Just wide open.

OEM Cat muffler, drilled opening in baffle behind 3/4 opening. Untested.

Very mild breathing enhancement on an 038AV, factory outlet gills remained untouched - for now.
Saw is not mine and I am not one to impose loud mufflers onto someone who liked his saws stock performance running a dull chain.
I did sharpen said chain, guy nearly cut himself "because the saw went through the tree too fast for him to react" - his words.
I tested this 038AV with the muffler front cover off and was left in disbelieve, I did the only reasonable thing and opened up the internal baffles with possible plans of adding a set of gills opposite to the factory ones.

As one can see the muffler is very dry, I checked WOT rpm after the mild MM and the saw was running a little over 13k.
12k being factory spec I richened the carb up a bit and the saw is now running a little over 12k.

Not trying to turn this into a oil thread, but the same guy brought me his brush cutter and its muffler was equally dry.
Supposedly he runs Stihl oil at 40:1.
Both, the saw and brush cutter show a fair amount of blow by on their pistons.
