Thank you. I think it looks pretty good but that handle just didn't fill out the entire eye like I would have preferred. Feels real solid, some good impacts will tell how she holds.
put 2 coats of tung oil on this one, tried BLO on 2 others yesterday....the BLO is still drying (lack of solvent in the BLO)

That’s plumb pretty. Plumbs have a little bit different eye shape. I’ll stagger my wooden wedge and usually drive a stick of kindling in from the bottom. I doubt it’s necassary but it keeps water from getting in there.

good idea ! was wishing I had made my wedge longer to fill some or all of that void at the front of the eye - hindsight is 20/20 lol

funny you should ask, I have glued the other ones I've hung but opted not to glue this one.... I decided to experiment and see how it goes without

I was going to carry the hammer in my hammer loop on my dungaree's and post a pic of that but decided to spare you all lol
yes, I was curious about the glued in wedges vs. non glued.... I'll just have to keep an eye on it and see how it goes. If she pops apart then we'll know !
might take it out back and do some splitting today and see what happens

They’ve come in so many styles over the years some of the makers like the mushroom style and it’s harder too get the slender heads over here
