I bought a cheap Job Lot for those plastic thingies. Plus I got a Estwing 2 lb hammer for them.

For the money I spent on those GB axes, I ain't banging anything but wood with them. [emoji2]

I like the look of the g b. No doubt. They’re gorgeous. So pretty I wouldn’t really wanna use em at all. I won’t beat metal wedges with an axe but plastic / wood ones. I’ll beat the crap outta them

I wouldn’t wanna beat metal with an axe. But I’ve beat pretty hard on wedges. All freaked out when a tree won’t cooperate. Then get back on the saw cut into my wedge get major kickback. Then bug out some more lol

I also use a huge rope with my Diesel truck to make them go where I want them to. A little assurance and pursuation.

back when i was production falling softwood i always had an axe in the vehicle but always used a small sledge hammer with a 24" handle for wedges also it was more useful when it came to straightening bent bars

Wasn’t too happy with the colour so burnt it again before the oil was dry then oiled it when it was hot much happier now
