I used Birchwood Casey Rusty Walnut stain. Followed that with several coats of boiled linseed oil.

Forgot to ask: What grit sandpaper did you use to remove the original finish? (What grit to start and what to finish with)

If I remember right I used 60/80 grain for removal then went to 120 and finished with 320. The 320 wasn't really necessary almost makes the handle too smooth.

Here is my collection. Nothin real special though. Double bits l to r . Round Craftsman, Juniata Blue(Mann axe), kelly, kelly red warrior ( my grandfather's ) and a 3.5lb plumb the others are 4lb
