I like it and I have a pile of those hatchets that I didn't know what to do with. What did you put into the center to keep from collapsing while you worked it? And what are you using for heat some kind of rosebud on your welding rig? Keep up the good work, those blisters will heal , I got a couple yesterday but nothing that fun! Mine were from a Shovel, repairing erosion from a lot of rain the day before....I made an axe-a-roon head today out of a roofing hatchet. View attachment 673953 1/2 hours later. View attachment 67397Now for a handle, Hickory for sure. I will probably start with a sledge or mall handle shorten a bit since it is a two sided tool.
Any thoughts from my fello saw nuts?

I used a bull spike to opened up and taper the hole in the end, but it didn't seem to collapse at all while forming.I like it and I have a pile of those hatchets that I didn't know what to do with. Remember what happened when billy ray made that axe handle too short on the double bit and he swung back
You've found another sideline
Finished this tonight. Love me some Stihl but don't need it all over my splitting axe handle. Happy with the results.

Man, that looks good!
What brand and color of stain did you use? After staining, what did you coat it with?
Thanks,
