Wasnt one a BIG Ludell?
Great Britain made some fine axes back then.
As good as any US axe head.

Trying to finish this one up this weekend.
2.25# Woodslasher on a 26" handle.
It's been a PITA so far.
LOTSO handle shaping (flap wheel) thus far to get it as thin as I like.
It's a older 6 eye ridge, HATE mounting them, but LOVE em when mounted.

If I'm not mistaken, I was the one that sent you the link to those 2.
Ever find any handles?
Did you ever talk to Scotty about handles?

If not War Years, those old Elwells have some great steel from what I've read.
Scotty? Oh @Scotty Overkill ?

Getting handles made for them by east coast lumberjack.

Maybe he has an axe resale shop or selling them at a flea market.
Both Sir i sell some online , and regular customers that keep coming back
and a market trader who takess most of the ones that have been beat on
and are pitted so buyers can look at them and they know what there getting

I do also but end up keeping more than I should. Lol
I do the flea market & a buddy has a big booth at a antique mall.
They sell pretty good @ both.

same here I like having plenty around too look at and have underhand
as there’s always someb wants something you haven’t got

market stalls have always been the traditional sale place and
the sales are better than online happy your doing good with the sales

House Axe Anyone?

Shapleigh Hardware "Forged Tool Steel" 2 1/4lb Boys Axe on 18" handle lol, perfect fit but I'm not gonna mount it.
PRICEY/SHAAARP head!

I have 2-26" handles left & prolly mount it on one of those, or buy a good 28".

Reckon I had to reshape that handle?

The handle on the Right, WAS Identical to the one on the Woodslasher.
That's what I like about this hobby.
Making something fit, that shouldn't fit! Lol
