Wow! That is very nice! What steel was used? That is heavier than GB splitting maul.

I'm not sure I contacted the blacksmith and ask d him if he could make a heavy head with thicker bits for wood splitting.

JT.. I have to ask and it’s not in a negative way. But how deep Are those inclusions on the bottom of the axe head at both bits? Structurally id be a bit weary of how deep they go into the metal for integrity sake.. it’s absolutely beautiful and nothing beats a custom axe!! Just was wondering

Here’s my newest batch I acquired.I also have a Walters hatchet and USM Collins not in the pictures. Top is a belkings blue grass, middles a kelly flint edge then a Collins and bottom is a Norlund going to MKinslow, stamps and markings are still really nice just haven’t been cleaned yet, and the blue grass was sharpened at a really crappy off balance heel and toe so I had to start to even it out profile wise.

Honestly not sure as I've not seen the axe in person this was just a couple pics he sent me after forging it before hardening.

To answer you yes they are vintage can't hooks. Still use em some to roll logs. Keep em well oiled for sure.
