I keep realizing how having my "Dragon Slayer" ax makes me not needing a splitter!
Yesterday, turkey oak knot, my old faithful ax went straight through.

Not bad at only 1.8kg of weight, though on a 40" handle.
I can swing this thing all day long without getting tired.
This particular ax makes splitting large firewood rounds a pleasure, I enjoy it almost as much as I like bucking logs.Hey @Wilhelm its good too see the medieval beast on the inter web
On straight grain rounds I only lift the ax and let gravity do the work.That long handle can really generate some power!
