That’s a great wood to work with. My dad framed all of his ceiling joists in tulip poplar.
You’re lucky to have a pressure kiln nearby that will
take small orders. What kind of rates do they charge?

Are you going to paint it, or just let it weather naturally? I need to learn to build simple barns. I have a really nice metal garage with poured concrete floor, but can't take full advantage of it with two tractors and implements filling it up.

My wife is in charge of painting. It is getting a solid color stain to match the cabin colors when it gets done.

Just do a pole barn equipment shed. I am sure there are YouTube videos. I watched a couple on building a shed on skids and looked at some at the local shed place.

Probably the same size as my garage, about 20x25. It doesn't even have to have sides and doors, just a roof to keep weather and sun off the tractors and implements. At my dad's old farm he would buy premade trusses, put them up on poles, and add metal roofing.

Look around for folks with storm damaged grain bins.

This was just up the hard road a few days back. They get smacked all the time.

Take the decent pieces and build.......................
