I’m building a shed at our mountain cabin from lumber off the sawmill.

Also lucky I have a relationship with the pressure treater a few miles away so the treated lumber came off the mill as well.

Tulip poplar, side wood from a timber frame I sawed over the winter for a guy.

That’s a great wood to work with. My dad framed all of his ceiling joists in tulip poplar.
You’re lucky to have a pressure kiln nearby that will
take small orders. What kind of rates do they charge?

Was up this weekend and got some work done on the shed. Got the roof on and most of the siding done.



Also ran some saws around the yard.

Pretty much done with the shed, just need to bring up some pressure treated 4/4 for the ramp.

Shed got broken in over the weekend. Last time I was up the T190 blew a lift cylinder seal. So the work bench got put to use rebuilding the cylinder. Successful trip when you have/bring all the right tools to get a job like that done.

Are you going to paint it, or just let it weather naturally? I need to learn to build simple barns. I have a really nice metal garage with poured concrete floor, but can't take full advantage of it with two tractors and implements filling it up.
