ok, that takes the prize for being the best free saw!!!
Hard to believe that this saw was a freebie. The guy that gave that away needed his head examined. Holy Cow!

Well, remember that everyone has their reasons. I keep forgetting that. One of my logger buddies gave me 3,200 bd ft of ash logs today in 8' t0 9' lengths, 12" to 22" dia. He delivered it using his picker truck. I was in shock.

Looks like a 395 to me.

How can you tell??

I have had a couple saws given to me over the years, Two or three Homey Super 2's, a J-Red 361 and a Husky 35. The only one I have a pic of is the Husky. My mom picked it up from my local dealer when she stopped there to see if he had a couple of parts for the J-Red 361. He passed it over the counter and told her it was on the house. Not nearly as cool as some of the freebies already posted, but I still have all but one of the freebies I have been given.

Side note: The 361 was my Dad's before he gave it to me when I was about 14 years old. He bought it used in the early 80's and he loved it for limbing. This is an older one with a manual oiler and no chainbrake. It had issues he was never able to figure out, and I ended up figuring out that it had an airleak in the bottom end that for some reason I decided wasn't fixable. So fast forward about 15-20 years to about 8 years ago and what do I find on Ebay?? A really nice 361 that was a little newer than Dad's old one as it had a chainbrake and automatic oiler. Think I paid about 60 or 70 mucks shipped and it runs like a little champ. I gave it to Dad as an unexpected random gift and he was thrilled. Dad passed away last September, the saw still sits on his saw shelf in the garage...

Anyway, here's my little 35. I still use it from time to time.. The sound of that saw always takes me back to working on firewood with Dad as a kid. If you notice the red tank front on my 35, that came from Dad's original 361. The chain tensioner screw boss was broken on the original tank of the 35 so I swapped it over. And that large bar nut, Dad was a lifelong machinist. He hated how awkward the small nut was to work with and made the large one you see in the pics. Got a little piece of Dad on this saw. I've never been given a saw!

I took over my dad's Sachs-Dolmar 105, but I still consider it to be his in a way!

I bought my own three saws, Dolmar PS-6400 new, Dolmar PS-7900 and Sachs-Dolmar 108 used.

After cleaning it up, and replacing some bits, and pieces.
