Jason is right .
I know for a absolute fact that it doesn't matter.Jason is right .
If it did matter i would not be able to bolt any top end on a 250r from 250 to 370cc without messing up balance .I know for a absolute fact that it doesn't matter.
I've said it 10 times, how come loading the saw more doesn't mess up balance?
The piston is no different than the chain
I tried to run saws today but they all ran like *s-word at 15 degrees outside.
Maybe tomorrow
The weights on the crank are to balance the rod journal so you have a stroke. It would be more obvious if the rod were 180 degrees the other way, but you can clearly see that the counter balances are on the opposite side of the crank than the rod journal. And yes, I did replace that little 029 piston with that large 390 piston, and it ran and is still together.

I've built a lot of alcohol burning 250r cr250 motors that were stroked and bored to the max, they were extremely high rpm and horse power and every thing was done that could be done to keep them together as long as possible.
Never one time did the word balance come up.
