I personally haven’t built one that way yet. I believe @Stump Shot has built a couple that way and has had really good results.
My 357 is built this way. Sure goes well, alot of power for small saw. I run 3/8 on an 18"bar. @huskihl managed to get his hands on (or into) the cylinder then got built down under by @markds2 .

It's just the nature of things as when you order a new 359 cylinder kit, Husqvarna sends you a 357xp kit as that is all that is still available. Which leads to so many built that way. Otherwise in reality, as far as the hobbyist is concerned, they can be built any which way a person has the inclination to, with all the mixing and matching of different cylinders and carburetors to suite their tastes or just using what happens to be available to them at the time, it's all good and part of the fun. :)
