I really like the 241. I have a new 261 here also, but I can't put the same chain on it to compare. I'll try getting a similar chain for the 261 and compare them. I ran the 261 with a semi chisel chain today and it's about the same speed as the 241 with a square chain
I probably have whatever you need to run the same chain on both here, let me know what you want me to ship up with it, oh wait you want the one a day to stop lol.
How many tanks were on the 550 before it was ported.

42cc, docile , less than 10 lb saw running with 50ccers = pretty awesome. It may get people rethinking a 2 or 3 saw plan. I think most of us have no less than 7 or 8 though, even the occasional firewood cutter play with saws person like me...

I'm not really all that concerned about it. Thank you though. Personally, I think Stihl discontinued the wrong saw. Not that there's anything at all wrong with a 261.

I think Frank made a half-dozen cuts with it. Every cut I made with it is on video. I disassembled it and there wasn't a whole lot of dust in the cracks. I'd guess it has 3/4 of a tank through it total

Shadco's ported 241 was 2ish seconds faster than the stock 550XP.

Nice! A video and build like that could start a "small saw" build trend.
The more my back hurts, the more excited lighter and smaller saws make me. I want to try a 261c and a 550xp mark 2 back to back...I'm ready to not use the larger saws so much.

Welcome.
I do to, but I'm not the one bringing in millions of revenue a yr, so they must be doing something right.

Got it, thanks.

Is that after being ported his 241 was faster.
I'm looking forward to giving the 550 mark a try, it will give a bit more separation between the 241 and the current 550.
It almost seems as though stihl and husky are working together, you cancel the 241 and we'll ad a little weight to the 550, okay, but you have to make the new 572 heavier than the the 462, okay done:risas3:.
It seems to me theres some great offerings that have hit the market recently.
