I must be the only guy that isn't that impressed with a ported 550. I'd take a 261 over one anyday
I've ran both side by side the same day and the 550 was such more enjoyable saw. Autotune is smoother adjusting than mtronic. I think the gen 1 AT was fine like the 576.

Different strokes for different folks, I really like my MMWS 261 Ver II, w/18" 3/8. Great power to weight.

Agree. The 550/2253 revs a bit faster and is lighter as well. 555 and 261 weigh and cost about same. Might as well get 60cc saw.

I've done the same and feel exactly opposite. With a few warm start issues I tossed the 550 aside

The newer AT12 carb 550/2253 seem run a bit better in general than the older generation saws.
