I went to a dealer not too far from here and asked what they did with their non repairable saws. He told me they threw them in the garbage. I asked if he would consider selling them, and he replied "NO".

They are afraid that if you fix an old one, they will loose a sale on a new one.

My dealer won't let me go through the graveyard either. I asked if he had any carbs he was tossing, specifically bigger carbs. He told me he didn't think he had any large carbs but I could have whatever he had. He wouldn't let me look, just brought me a box (20-25), all off smaller machines, probably homeowner trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, etc.

I work on ten Stihls for every one Husqvarna and I am a Husqvarna dealer. Stihls last longer because they sit in the repair shop while the Huskys do all of the work.
There are alot more stihls out there then husky.if i gave you 10 bucks for every husky you saw and you gave me a buck for every stihl i see. Youd owe me money.

Lol. Interesting.
Just the opposite here. Can't buy a Stihl new unless from a dealer. Husqvarna's can be had in box stores like Ace Hardware and Lowe's. But not all models.
I haven't even seen a Jonsered dealer around me ever. Maybe I need to look harder?????

Stihl is sold mostly in hardware and farm/ tractor stores here. The one exclusive stihl dealership we have looks like will be closing his doors...

That's the way of the world today. I live in logging county and all the good dealers are gone. It's all ace hardware and farm stores, doesn't matter which flavor saw you like.

Deets I have a parts saw, it's yours if you want it. Want me to send it with Ted?

It may or may not fall out of the drivers side window on my way home joe...but I'll give it my best shot.

No, hell no, lol

I was just giving Ted a hard time. He hates it when people bring that stuff in to be fixed

This. Take that old ass junk to the dump. It's not even about selling a new saw at that point...Go buy a husky for all I care, I don't want that *s-word in my shop.

"But it's my dead grandpas and has sentimental value"

You shoulda buried that saw with him.

There are no dedicated saw shops here. If it is not a big name store, their primary business is selling lawn mowers, and the chainsaws are a side line. They stock next to nothing!
