I work on ten Stihls for every one Husqvarna and I am a Husqvarna dealer. Stihls last longer because they sit in the repair shop while the Huskys do all of the work.

Could it be because Stihl's outsell Husqvarna 20:1 in your area? That would be the case in my area. I don't even know of a Husqy dealer within 50 miles other than Lowes. Plenty of Stihl dealers though. My Stihl dealer won't even work on a Husqy or anything else other than Stihl.
I have no idea why it is like that. Husqy makes some good stuff.
The one Big dealer that I get most of my parts from. Is a Stihl, Husky, Echo and was a Dolmar dealer.
He sells a lot more Husky saws compared to Stihl. He does sell a ton of the handheld Stihl stuff ( trimmers & blowers ) but the Echo's are starting to cut into that too.
We had some bad storms go through the area earlier this summer. I stopped there to get some stuff and the Husky wall was almost bare of all saws he had set up. And the Stihl wall was overflowing.
I believe it has to do with what a guy has had in the past and what there used to running. All the prices are really close between them all so it's not a cost thing.
Were the same way. I'm such a dick that I won't even take a chain off another brand saw if they bring it in for sharpening. My Stihl dealer won't even work on a Husqy or anything else other than Stihl.
