Everything Ive had or have needed to be fixed.......because I'm to cheap to spend money on a runner.
Around my area it is mostly Husky / J-Reds in pro saws. Most of the Stihl saws sold here are in hardware stores and just sold to home owners that use them twice a year like a throw away Poulan.

Lol. Interesting.
Just the opposite here. Can't buy a Stihl new unless from a dealer. Husqvarna's can be had in box stores like Ace Hardware and Lowe's. But not all models.
I haven't even seen a Jonsered dealer around me ever. Maybe I need to look harder?????

I work on ten Stihls for every one Husqvarna and I am a Husqvarna dealer. Stihls last longer because they sit in the repair shop while the Huskys do all of the work.

That's because if you don't know anything about chainsaws you know stihl is what you buy when you want quality lol.

I am only funnin ya Joe. It's all good.
I have seen some really good running saws of all makes in the last few weeks. Huskys, J Reds, Stihls. When done by the right people, they all hustle and do the job. [emoji106]

Could it be because Stihl's outsell Husqvarna 20:1 in your area? That would be the case in my area. I don't even know of a Husqy dealer within 50 miles other than Lowes. Plenty of Stihl dealers though. My Stihl dealer won't even work on a Husqy or anything else other than Stihl.

I have no idea why it is like that. Husqy makes some good stuff.

I am sure that has a lot to do with it, I just had to have some fun with Jeff and Team STIHL. :D

The one Big dealer that I get most of my parts from. Is a Stihl, Husky, Echo and was a Dolmar dealer.
He sells a lot more Husky saws compared to Stihl. He does sell a ton of the handheld Stihl stuff ( trimmers & blowers ) but the Echo's are starting to cut into that too.
We had some bad storms go through the area earlier this summer. I stopped there to get some stuff and the Husky wall was almost bare of all saws he had set up. And the Stihl wall was overflowing.
I believe it has to do with what a guy has had in the past and what there used to running. All the prices are really close between them all so it's not a cost thing.

Good points. Prices are very comparable. Just personal preference and maybe brand loyalty. I wouldn't know anything about the latter. Lol

We are a Husqvarna, RedMax, Echo and Shindaiwa dealer and we sell on average $300,000.00 of hand held a year. A few years back the Stihl rep came in and offered to set us up as a Stihl dealer. But he said the only way he would do so is if we agreed to be Stihl exclusive and drop all of our other brands. I asked him how many dollars worth of hand held the average dealer in the area does a year and he told me $80,000.00 I said "Let me get this straight, you want me to give up $300,000.00 worth of sales for $80,000.00? No thank you."

I think a lot of time what sells is what the store people tell the customer is "better". The Stihl/Husky dealer near me favors Stihl. Just the way it is I guess.
