I was going to say run down to the mail box but I seen PO. Lol. It's not much but if your a Stihl guy you'll like it. You might already have one

So, @dall, what was your impression of the large case vs. small case under a ported 460 52mm jug?

Torque, rpm, etc...

Would be nice to see them back to back in the same wood with the same sprocket/bar/chain combo.

The hybrid looks zippier than the 460 to me, but the 46o looks like it's got less trouble when you really dog it in.

Gonna try to find the time to build myself a hybrid before the CT GTG. I have a few 460 jugs sitting here to machine for a good buddy. May as well cut a few more at the same time while my 52mm tooling is out.

Anyone know the weight difference in a 44/46 hybrid vs. an 046?

Interesting! You would think the smaller case volume should just act like a crank stuffer, but I guess, as has been stated before, everything just has to be in sync. What seems like it would be good is not always good in reality.

Do you think different port timing or volume would work better when it is a hybrid?
The transfers are to small on the bb cylinder and so is the case on a 044
They can't feed the extra cc's

Cylinder is the same size on the outside but the bore is 2mm bigger so the transfers loose a bunch of volume.

To start with I'm going to remove the baffle and sneak a muffler mod in, then maybe a little timing bump. It runs quite well for 41.6cc's so I'm curious how it'll react to just that.

If it's a super it will be about 44 or 45cc
They had 024 bore with additional 2mm of 026 stroke

Yeah I was actually wondering about bore size because there's three or more cylinders listed for that model. I read all the info about their differences back when it was talked about on this site or another, but I didn't have a complete 024 at the time so I didn't retain anything.

image.jpeg She's pretty tired looking in person but has good compression still and runs great. Piston is spotless. He had me tune it up for him and put new muffler on it. Pretty amazing how good it survived up in Maine all those years.
