Never hooked a ported one up but did hook up a 201tcm after opening the muffler and advancing the timing...the fuel values didn't change at all. Still like to hook up a before and after ported saw.

Nothing.
Nothing I've done to it has changed how it starts or idles,it is a wonderful thing.

What's the difference?
Not sure. I thought you could recalibrate if you made a drastic location or elevation change by going through the process of letting it idle for a minute, and wide open in a cut, etc. Something like that, as I am not overly educated with mtronic. Just asking to learn about these from what I have read.
All of this calibration, without pushing the reset button. Just inquiring. Thanks fir your patience when asking these stupid questions.
He may mean the calibration process not a factory reset.

The procedure that chevy was referring to is. With the control lever all the way down on cold start let it idle for 90seconds then go straight to off Then go make some cuts. From what I see is it relearns the fuel needed pretty quick after that.
I did have a guy that had a running problem and he would do the relearn and it would run good for a while then go running bad again. He did this over and over every couple days til it was to bad to run. It turned out he had a air leak. So it can mask a real problem for a while. Your correct on the elevation change. If you shut it off in Colorado then go to sea level it probably would run bad for a while. And stihl recommends a relearn. But I haven't tried that scenario. AlsoJim knows what he's talking about so if it does better after a port to not do the relearn then I would listen.
I can say though when you hook it up to the computer you can see if theirs a airleak without a pressure test but it has to be more than a minor leak.
What kind of problems were people having? I'm still learning all this new stuff to

I think so. When the price on it comes down and the components get smaller and all the testing is done then maybe on a model or 2. I think 2 to 3 years. I could be wrong

How will they pressurize the fuel?
Pump that runs off a generator? Still have to have a battery or something to supply fuel for start up.

On the ts500 you have to pump the bulb to pressurize it initially. Then the injection pump pumps from impulse pressure. It's low pressure. It will not start if you don't prime the bulb first.
