A Remington Super 754 actually hurts my ears which is hard to do !
I've been to a bunch of storm clean ups at the coast and recently inland . I love running a big chipper, they make an insane amount of work dissappear! But standing at the mouth of madness for 8-10 hrs is LOUD! Good hearing protection is a must even though your body vibrates to the rhythm of a big diesel.
Perspective.
I was replacing the clutch springs on a Ms250 and it dawned on me they are the same clutch and drum. Then I spent a few weeks wondering if the 170 could do it
I can't think of any practical reasons to do this other than I could. 3/8 6 is extremely close to a 325 7 in terms of chain speed so it was just a matter of if it could pull the bigger kerf
Few videos from today. This wood has been out there since the spring in full sun. It was quite solid.
The 359 is interesting, it came to me as a parts saw with a ported cylinder. I had a lot of extra parts laying around and had enough for just about a complete saw. Original piston looked pretty good but had some hours. Put a meteor piston in this one.
MS440 was a little underwhelming. Stock.
The 346xp was okay but just needs a little more ‘zip’. I had not touched the uppers on this one, squish/base cut and some port widening.
