The rod alone wouldn't change the stroke at all. The crankshaft determines stroke.

Anyone notice my MIL deciding she had to speak to me at that very moment about absolutely nothing important?

I’m sure some of you are familiar with the phenomenon. Clearly I was doing nothing at the time and ready to be engaged in conversation.

It’s at its peak when I am splitting wood or milling, and she makes me shut everything down and take off all my PPE to discuss nothing.

Mac's with some work can be very potent! No shame in exploring them. Just go slow and make minor changes
