Since milling has come up -- here's a couple of vids of a 100 year mill in the next town over the owner was kind enough to give us a great deal on milling all of the lumber for our sugarshack.
The mill is powered by an engine out of a mack truck he converted. We did several 8x8 beams, 2x6 flooring, planking etc.
Myself and my buddy Ken felled several trees that were marked to go in our town forest. This was quite a project.

Pine is mostly what I mill.... its nearly free most of the time, and I can build a shed w/ it

no need for a crazy mill... my woodland mills works perfectly.

here is with a full comp round ripping semi chisel chain ,28 inch bar is mostly used up ,i think a 18-20 inch wide slab ,it is faster with skip square since i have switched ,i bet the speed is similar to the bandsaw video above with the square skip chain .404 ,i tried alaska mill after using this one ,i got real wore out and sweaty with the alaska one ,this one takes a lot of the work out of it,i run a 32 inch bar with .404 now without the aux oiler ,i can mill bigger logs now

Pto side crank seal is leaking on my 064,I knew something was wrong with it.

It's way off from what it should be, only tune to 13700.

I'll fix it and have a rematch

I've not noticed any loss in cut power from a light flywheel,usually just gains buy I've never tried one this light.
It was a broke flywheel so I done that,useless the way it was.

I hate the handle in a husky, always in the way tuning so I cut the damn thing off shorter

Where do you hook up the jumper cables?

Pto side bearing is spun in the case on my 064. I've heard of lots of these short case saws spinning that bearing but this is only the 2nd one I've seen do it.

The old saw is actually a 066,I had 2 cylinder bolts holes stripped on the original 064 case so I changed it over to 066 cases but most would never noticed.
I have had that saw since new and have all the original parts still but the only original parts on it now is the crankshaft, fuel tank,recoil and flywheel.

I already changed the case but it was my last good pto side short case half. I need to get more but good ones are becoming scarce.

I seen the seal was bad and went to pop it out and spun the bearing,I could spin it in the case with my finger. Massive airleak

Sometime you can sleeve the bearing bore. If not, I have a couple sets of 064/066 cases I need to dig through and see what is salvageable.
