nice J

yes I can port teeth (I have diamonds, I can do anything), no it won't make you eat faster....

I think its just this spot on this cylinder, OR, the plating is indeed different / defective on this one. just isn't stickin like the others do. odd.

Any idea what it was?

I believe it was the wire mesh arctic airfilter. It works awesome on every other saw I got here but it hurts that one.
Only thing I can think of.
With the spit back sponge in the filter it will kill that saw when you stick it on.
It flows more than a regular filter and is a gain on everyone but this one. No idea why

Here's 2 064's that I built, one with a 281 piston and tight transfers for velocity and the other is a big transfer for flow.
The flow saw will at least tune a thousand rpm more,it's the green filter saw and is tuned at 14500 but will go past 15 4stroking. The other is the 281 piston saw and it's at 14k and pretty well maxed.
The exhaust is higher in it but it's far behind in rpm.

I don't ever give tourqe any thought because I don't really see the difference between tourqe and chain speed.

Let's here about what makes a saw have tourqe to you guys.

I have found that the fastest saw self feeding is the fastest under any circumstances.

I've seen fast saws that you can't dog in, just bogs em down

I'm still trying to get this 66 tuned.
Had 4 carbs on it and at idle it's fat or lean,no in between. What's the deal?

Exactly.
When Kevin came with his 3 big saws, the 661 held more rpm self feeding, but would stop if I dogged in past 10k.
Yours and Jasons would dog in right down to 7k with out stopping.

If a saw has ☓ amount of tourqe at 12000 rpm it's going to be a fast self feeding saw but another saw with the same amount of tourqe at a lower rpm will be the one that you can dog on. It has everything to do with what rpm it makes said tourqe at,set a chain up for both of them and they can be equal at different rpm's.

Length of bottom bucking spikes make all the difference between which saw handles a load better if they're both good saws. Longer spikes put more torque against the chain causing it to pinch the bar a little bit. It's like a stronger vise so to speak.
