Which model Remington is this old Wards saw of mine? It is a strong runner, oil pump has started leaking a little around the pump rod. So I need to get some kerosene to flush it, and get a new seal found or made.Also, I know they aren't very valuable. But I would like to know what a fair value would be for this saw also.

Awesome, thank you very much. I forgot to include that it has a Remington universal mount rollernose bar as well.

No.

And, he is destined to list it over and over on evilbay if he thinks he can get that much.

I have two. A direct drive GL-7 and a gear drive GL-7R.

I got a chuckle today. I took an HL-161 apart today and the metering lever spring was placed over the lever fulcrum pin. I guess the PO thought they finally found out where it should go.

Hello guys, been lurking on the various chainsaw sites, have a light case of CAD.
I have 2 huskys, a Homelite, $90 china fun saw and now a Remington PL-4 Coworker gave me the Remington that has been sitting for who knows how long under a workbench at a paper mill we work at. I finally took a look at the old saw and with a tank of fuel and some rope pulling she is alive again!
Now the question for the good folks here is what shade of paint closely matches the red and white on this saw? Will a Homie XL air filter work, Remmie filters are very rare and not the least bit cheap. Will try and post up a couple pictures before and after i cleaned her up with a little Super Clean.

IH red and IH off white works well.

The ‘implement’ paint from Lowe’s.

Takes an eternity to dry hard enuf to resist gasoline.[emoji2959]

For the SL series I use VHT paint from the auto parts store in Chevy orange. It’s more resistant to gas but pricey. Satin black for the AF lid.

I haven't tried a super xl filter in mine yet, but may have too. Some guys were reflocking their hsrd to find filters in a different forum using this stuff.

Any of you folks know the points gap setting for a Super 990? I am assuming that it's the same as the others in that family.

It's starting to go back together.

Look on the points box cover. Sometimes it’s imprinted on them. And, even have a tab to use as a feeler gauge.[emoji848]
