I don’t have pics but my Crv lost spark. The module in the distributor went bad. I had an accord module I hacked with a grinder to fit for a temporary fix. It probably has 20k on it like that now.

I broke hard fuel lines on my 97 K2500 and run hose to the metal line ends. Not nearly as nice as the envoy fix.

That was a power steering line so had to be able to take some pressure. I tried pressure rubber line but kept blowing off. So ended up with what you seen.

Now old plow truck. The metal fuel line has some new plastic fuel line spliced in there now too. About a 2-3' section. No more rust through there.

Wish they installed stainless steel brake lines from the factory.

I'll have to find the pics for the envoy fuel tank fix. Filled it up and smelled gas when coming back out after sons game one day.

The plastic weld? Where the tank filler went into tank broke loose.

I priced a XL tank and was like nope.

Found it. For envoy and trail blazers.

Was a recall on 02-04 for tank replacement for 10 years or up to 150K, whichever comes 1st. I was over 10 years with 148K

After pricing a tank and having to replace everything from one tank to another. I decided to try a redneck fix 1st.

Also had to do everything left handed up in there = not good for me.

I mixed up JB weld and brushed into seam and leaking area and let dry 24hrs. Next day took the stick quick steel putty and put around 360 degree around the seal area and let dry 24hrs. Then next day coated area with seal-all and let dry for 24hrs.

Been holding 6 years so far.

Done many rust belt repairs myself. I’ve become a professional brake line bender over the years lol.

Had a Jonsered 920 that someone ran a piece of 12/2 house wire for the ignition switch AND the spark plug lead. Wire is wire right?

A friend of mine had an old Dolmar saw that had broken av mounts, rather than buying new mounts he filled the saw with rtv sealer between the body and the engine. Took me forever to scrape all the sealer out...

A mate handed me this cheap saw in its box said I could have it it's new! Lol
It's got rust here and there as I dump it outside waiting to throw it in my ute next tip run.
Story was he brought it said it leaked oil so he tryed fixing it and failed by the looks lol
Anyway he went back to the store said it no worky they gave him a new saw and said keep the old one.
Not sure how he snapped the crank and the kill switch was all broken open the saw had never even cut wood LOL

I do something like that for those NLA poulan jred covers.

Use a 268 etc cover and giver her a little trim. Can see the pile you need to cut away. Thats was just a quick one.
Can get much tighter with it if you take your time. Just a cover to me on a chainsaw, so I dont worry about the freaking looks, just want it to function.

I have a Kitchenaide washing machine.
The motor and water pump hang from four of those little spring straps like my finger is pointing at.
The white plastic drive coupling (on the right with green arrows) keeps snapping the pins as the motor slowly sags on the little straps.
The pins area about 1/4" diameter, with NO worthwhile radius where they meet the face of the coupling flange.

I got tired of eFing with swapping the couplings
(are laundry units ever in an easy to access location??)
and decided to try drilling holes where the pins had broken off and then lacing individual loops of recoil starter rope in each pair of the six holes.
Don't forget to put the rubber disc back in first!
Gave the rope a good snugging and then closely trimmed the knots and then heat hardened them just a tiny bit.

Haven't had to mess with it any more for several years now.
I expect the ropes will wear and the holes will wallow out eventually.
But the rope job has lasted longer than the factory finger method ever held up.

Have seen some odd "better than nothin" air filter substitutes. Bath sponge, dirty sock, panty hose. Some guys are actually proud of their ingenuity.

One of the first things I found on tare down was this fuel line repair.
