Dropped this Redbud at a co-workers house. Half dead. I left the one straight tree directly behind the 3 trunk disaster I cut today. Ruined my chain cutting the stump.

Neighbor flagged me down Wednesday while I was hauling a load of walnut slabs home from my sisters. After commenting on my enormous saw, I was offered a fine piece of ash if I should want it. How could I refuse?

Got two loads out yesterday, and I'm going to hit it again after work today.

Scored some hackberry this weekend from the local brush pile. Tore the crap out of 3 chains, and quickly. Ended up being just under 1.5 cord, from what I figured. It's split so nicely though. The most square pieces I've made in a long time!

Awesome splitter Grimmy! :applaudit::ARMS1::b1::clap::clap2::clapclap::dancer2:
Thanks! I had Alex build me one after I wasn't happy with the one I got from Allwoodlogsplitter. This one just chews through the wood. Here's a vid testing out the 6 way on some junk wood for the fire pit.

I have a couple vids, but can't really see the splitter and cylinder. Custom made cylinder with a 3.75" rod, for a quick return stroke. It can keep 3-4 guys busy if you push it.

About as short a haul as you can make. Black locust on my place reached over neighbors yard. 2 young kids. They asked for OK to take it down- sure, I'd buck that stem to length and haul it out, to the road and up my drive. Arborists surprised everyone, arriving Fri. AM. The locust in question was last on their dance-card. Mingo marked it and Dolly cut it up fine until finding some dirt in the bark. (Full-chisel is touchy stuff.) Homie finished up.
Good thing my lil p/u had a short trip:
DSC_0001.jpg It was squatting a bit. Cheapo NT wood cart a big help across lawn, down steps.

The 16" rounds, once stacked facing S, and awaiting their turn under the mauls, the small stuff elsewhere:
DSC_0005.jpg LogRite hookaroon (indispensible tool) is 37" L for reference.

All pix had their filesizes shrunken to ~1% of size camera output. (Just good netizenship.)

The village mayor (a friend of mine from HS) asked me to take care of this red maple. He even offered to pay me! I guess nobody else had the firepower. There's another one in the side yard too. I haven't even put a dent in it yet.
