Old post, I know, but I am new to the site and saw the post.

I refurbished an old 266. It was kind of fun looking at the options for parts. I bought rings from the Duke.

I didn't need much else, so I don't have anything to offer for cylinders, pistons, etc.

As far as the 266/268 go, the 272 P&C is all that is left available new in the States, which is a direct swap for the 268, you will need a 268/272 intake block and the intake screws to mount the jug on a 266. The Highway seals and gasket kit (minus the intake gaskets, they suck) fuel line work very well. The bearings are just common 6202C3 so whatever flavor like there is fine. The highway muffler is a really decent repop for the price.

While it isn’t in kit for per se, HL supply has everything in stock to build any 266/268/272 saw.

Lots of us rebuild older saws, I’m thinking like 266/288. Wouldn’t it be nice if a vendor carried a full rebuild kit one stop shop? Gaskets, bearings, fuel lines, what else? Optional tank mounts, piston/brg?
Any Husqvarna dealership has most of what's needed for a 266 and everything that you could want for a 288 as well as 272/268 51/55

Yeah, I’ve always been able to chase down everything…it would just be nice to order a kit and skip the chasing.
