Wishing I had put that shut off valve on my push mowers fuel line. Then I wouldn't be cleaning what looks like gelatin out of the carb.

I did it to my $150 riding mower. It was cheaper and faster than fixing the carburetor that leaks after I shut it off.

And full the crankcase with fuel!

Even after rebuilding the carb, it still leaked.
So I figured needle seat is damaged.
Dealer wants $125 for carb.
Paid $2 for a shut off valve.
Now if I can only remember to close it when I'm done

Thats how I shut mine off. Makes for some noce backfiring too.

I have the same problem, paid $7 for a plastic inline shutoff valve that leaked like crazy one day all over my boot. Tore it out and use vise grips now to pinch off the line.
It is some crazy backfiring and hydro-locking of the motor when you forget!
