Quote from newspaper today:
"A shell casing recovered from one of the bullets fired at Thompson had the word “depose” written on it, while “delay” was written on a live round that was ejected when the shooter appeared to be clearing a jam, law enforcement sources told CNN on Thursday.
Police are exploring whether the words found indicate a motive, pointing to a popular phrase in the insurance industry: “delay, deny, defend.”
That last phrase is so true. Insurance company delayed paying for my wife's surgery, had to pay a large chunk out of pocket (OOP) to keep from going into collections. Then had to fight with the hospital to get my money back once the insurance finally paid 6 months later. Then the insurance dropped her and refused to insure her. Apparently there is a listing service (Lexis Nexus) that shows claims, and no other insurance company would insure her either. Finally got her insurance after the ACA (Obamacare) was passed and pre-existing conditions clauses were waived.
Again, not advocating violence, but with a phrase in the industry of "delay, deny, defend", what do they think is going to happen? You pay your premiums and expect a service, not a fight. As an insurance company guy told me once "you aren't the customer, you are the revenue stream. The stockholder is the customer". Jerks.
