New front door. Turned out pretty good. Wish the walls were little more square in the old part of the house.

I like that door, nice work.
I'd like to get something like that to let more light in. The thing is, as long as it shuts well I don't care much about it, since I bring my wheelbarrow thru it and trash the frame/seals. The dr is in the front room, this is also where my woodstove is at and even though it leaks a good amount of air my stove still heats the house nicely.
Started splitting this pile, it should be about 12 cord. I calculated it based on the 26 loads I hauled from my parents being around 2k plus per load on a single axle trailer, its red oak.
The only bummer is because I let it sit so long I'll loose some to it being on the ground and some because it had the bark on it.

Had a nice fire the other night, you can see the pile behind it.

Looks pretty good I stacked a pile I got from my in laws last week. Ordered myself rods and a chimney brush now ill just have to get an ash vacuum ill have to try my hand at sweeping the chimney this year since my wife definitely will not be allowing anyone inside. My chimney never gets really that bad I burn dry wood mainly need to clean out the firebox and brush and clean behind the damper. But we like our evening fires so this will be it this year.

The other door was getting pretty banged up from bringing wood through. My stove is in the front room ther too. I really like the amount of light it lets in. In the morning if i open curtins on window the suns in my face blinding me. The sun is more behind through the door so it works great.
The old door i might use at the back of the house to replace a worn out patio door thats getting hard to open and lets a lot of air through. Will start bringing wood through there.

Then you know exactly what I'm saying.
I have a bunch of drywall covering the windows in the living room/entry room/where the stove is, if I move that I'll get a lot more light as the cubans are pulled behind the drywall, been that way for yrs. Funny you are talking about putting that one where your slider is, I've considered putting a slider in the formal dinning room going to the back yard, there is currently a window there, a nice door would be easier I guess.
I would really like to build a dormer over the front porch and make it more of a 3 season room, then the windows near the wood stove(the ones covered by drywall) could be utilized to get wood into the room. I have considered building wood racks on the front porch that are right in front of the windows, then I could open the window and grab enough wood to fill the stove, then close the window, no more bugs and a lot less debris in the house.

Thanks.
I did a couple loads today and started stacking them in the trailer, three in there so far, about a 5th of a cord I'd guess.
I thought you were gonna say "since my wife definitely will not be doing it"(the chimney cleaning that is) lol. I would like a nice ash vac, I could use it on the pellet stove too, but I usually just let it pile up in there.
Nice to have the tools to do it yourself if you don't mind getting up there, it saves a good bit of cash too so they pay for themselves quickly.
Used my 372 to noodle a couple rounds down today, then the Japanese round lifer to get the quarters onto the splitter or at least up in the air so I didn't have to bend over to pick them up off the ground.

Man!
That is a beautiful place!!
BTW...did you come down that steep incline in the ATV, before you went across the river?:campeon:
Yep, it's a toe-curling ride, but worth it to get down here. We had 7 of us loaded in the UTV and I was glad that I was the one behind the wheel.

That's always nice to get it up off the ground I have a bad back so I know how that goes. Nothing beats the old 372 they are a tank always steady cuthing through pretty much everthing. Been real busy here the elderberry harvest is in full swing and I've been put to work devining all the berrys.

Hit the brakes, full reverse! See if the dog will do a front flip over it, then send us the picture.
Can hit the brakes but the the reverse part. Its a nitro. Lol. Was surprised he accually chased it being so loud.
He did run into the back once when my boy stopped quick.

Better you than me, I'd die, my allergies just started kicking this week pretty bad.
It's been real dry here for a while now, kind of like it's a late summer, and it's supposed to be in the high 80's and up in the 90s the next week or so, I'm not into it at all. Today they are calling for a high around 83 so I'll try and get a couple more buckets split.
The suburban is sold, anyone out west got a lead on another rust free one for me :D.
