I dont keep up on who's is currently one upping the other. I knew they were pretty close for a while.

I heard rumor that GM isnt upping the power until the Allison goes to 10? I think speed.

Like I said, I'd rock any of the current big 3's diesel trucks. They all get the job done.

L5P duramax is at 910 ft lbs now, or maybe 915?
GM and Ford were within 5 ft lbs of each other since 17 in their dick swinging torque contest.
The Cummins is currently leader in torque.
I work at a GM dealer. Would I own any of the 3? Yes, I would.
They are mechanical. They will break.

My Dad went from a 15 with 705ish ft lbs to the 17. It tows better, but drinks more fuel and more def. Probably 16k loaded? 5th wheel.

Ford actually bought the design of their new heads with no exhaust manifolds from GM.

I also have yet to find anything my 13 LML at 705 ft lbs wont move.

20 years ago, a guy was lucky to have 350 ft lbs and was happy as a pig in chit towing with it over a gasser.

My opinion, the Allison is stil the best trans, but the others are gaining finally.

But what you like, they all get the job done.

My 17 Ford is 945. I’ve towed with a lot less power but I always had modded trucks so most were 800 ft lb plus. I bought my first Dodge Cummins in winter of 01. 235/460 and we thought those were power monsters. [emoji23] I had a few 1st gen trucks that started at 160/400. Those made more low end torque modded than anything I ever used.

Aftermarket wheel. I would be pissed.
Maybe they should have plugged the SDM in. Would have made it easier to program..

I think it is crap though.

In Oregon you have the right to OEM parts, but if you don’t ask for it you may not get it, the insurance company can do what it chooses, but they have to pay for OEM if you ask, a lot of the insurance companies will lifetime warrantee aftermarket parts just to get the cheaper prices, Betting that most people won’t keep their car for more than 3 to 5 years
