I'm not supposed to be at work tonight. I get the phone calls cause they know I'll show up.
Good your getting some time off for a change.
I like the pictures.
I just had my son on the roof with me last week, he made a snowman up there :).

Fluid looks like time to change. Maintance or is it broke?

Welcome to the world of Dexron HP fluid. That's what it looks like under normal conditions.
50K miles on it. Supposedly it has something to do with corrosion inhibitors.
That trans had an issue with the trans fluid temp sensor, which is integrated into the internal harness. Which one cannot remove without removing the valve body.

On a side note, they have gone through 3 or 4 variations of that fluid already. We have a ton of them experiencing TCC shudder. Supposedly it's the fluid causing it.
It is not cross compatible with any other fluid, and they claim use of non Dex HP in that trans will cause damage.

Throw some good ol ATF in it for turds and giggles.

Nice, 67/68 firebird? What’s the plan?
Its a 68 convertible. My FIL built it when he was younger. Jeep frame, scout D44s, the winch is PTO driven and the tube bumper is also an air tank. The body is not modified in any way and could be put back on a firebird frame if so desired.

Had 60-70 mph wind gusts last night and this morning making blizzard conditions. Schools closed and lost power for a half hour at 6am. I called the boss and told him I would be in once I got a generator hooked up. Been putting off making a pig tail to connect the generator for a while now. Even have an industrial electrical business a mile down the road so I stopped this morning for 30' of 10 gauge wire and some 30amp connectors and wasnt disappointed. I left with a spool of 10 gauge 4 wire, 30-40 ft, 2 two Male 30 amp connectors and one female, 40 buckaroos. On my way back ran into a downed tree across the road so had to take the long way home. Power came back on before i got that all squared away so I headed into work. Lots more trees down, none in the road thankfully.

Here's some damage.

What year do you like best? How hard are they to find in your area?
you can find them, well I should say find about 70% of one if your lucky. And the "newer" ones. Isn't that 81-87

I'd leave it as is!

Its not gonna change. Before he had the kabota he hauled logs out of the fire roads with that car. First date with his wife he got it stuck and they had to walk out 2 miles to get the tractor and pull it out. Lots of history in that car for him. Needs a clutch and will be back in action.
