raffle, trying to help a dear friend

it's not life threatening, so no cash, no insurance, no help. she is in constant pain. she has a brace and crutches to get around to do what she has to but can't work. she has bills to pay the same as the rest of us.

Gotcha. Sux being in constant pain, I know the feeling from my younger years building/framing houses...no insurance, no nothing. Rule was pretty much, if you fall you're fired before you hit the ground...like that really mattered.

Here's a question for the masses simply because I don't know. When a GoFundMe donation account is created for someone, does the person for who the funds are for have to wait until the designated, for lack of better words, timeframe of the GoFundMe expires (30/60 days, etc), or can they get ahold of some funds to get the ball rolling, instead of having to wait for the end of it? I know she mentioned an MRI is needed and that's obviously the case with possible ligament damage.

I can get her to the $1400 threshold but I've got to pay severe penalties tapping into my Fed Govt Thrift Savings Plan. Let's wait and see how much we all can come up with outta our usual checking/savings accounts. I know it's tough, we all struggle with money to pay the bills and whatnot, and what's left to play with is what's left. My 18 yr old daughter is killing me in college...when they're freshmen, they have to live in the dorms. Just bleeding me down to nuthin'.

Playing catch up folks...I hope if there's enough funds bankrolled by now with the GoFundMe or donations via other avenues that this young lady has had the opportunity to have the MRI on her knee. If anyone is in the know, is there any update as of now? Certainly wishing the best from here.

Update on TM:
was down at TM's preparing for the oil test most of the day, but did stop by and BS'd with Scott for a bit. As some of you may remember his wife up and left him right after his heart attack, for another dude. ...the Internet bill has been in her name and she hasn't been paying it...long story short TM is trying to pay it or get it out of her name. So TM is doing good, his net is just down for a bit, while he figures out how to get this settled.


Update on his friend Liz - sounds like she is fixin to get in to have that MRI done and start getting her leg sorted out.
