Thanks Doc,
If I go that low with the intake, do I need to decrease my blowdown?

Looking at these tunnels in these jugs, the pto side looks very close. The flywheel side on the KS jug looks much bigger!
Also the uppers in the KS jugs aren’t as wide as the Mahle

Interesting how they made the transfers different size on pto and flywheel sides. Purposely done?

Not to go jacking this thread with 288 stuff but it's funny, I just ported an older KS 288 cylinder for Daserlon and have a Mahle cylinder on hand as well. The KS has significantly smaller transfers, especially in the uppers.

Just interesting that with one model the KS seems to be the better performers and with another model it's the other way around. Dale told me that the Mahle 288 cylinder was noticeably stronger than the KS.

And then XP_Slinger has a new/current OEM KS 288 cylinder and we wonder if it is like the old KS cylinders or more like the Mahle cylinders in terms of port design. We will find out soon enough.

Interesting stuff for sure.

Are Mahle and KS the only makers of factory Husky cylinders?

One intriguing thing I have seen with the husky cylinders recently is the current production 395 cylinder kits come with a mahle cylinder and ks piston. At least 2 of mine did. Very interesting. The p/c were beautiful not a single booger.
