Presets for Spinning and Breaking Chain

Anyone know if the current Oregon .404 presets will work with the old 52AJ chain? I see two part#s listed on their site. Madsens doesn’t have 404 anymore so we’re no help.

Talked to Frawleys and he says, no, the current stuff has a larger ID hole.
So, anyone have a bag of old presets?

DL id is .189
Strap id is .138
Preset post is .126 and .187
Oregon 52AJ, .404 Sq gr, skip, .063g

Interesting thing...the straps on the 18x processor chain are exactly the same.

The new stuff may well work but I don't have any to play with.

I will take a look, a few years ago the store I worked for was getting rid of everything they did'nt want/need where they could, so since we didn't sell .404 anymore (or any Oregon chain for that matter) I was able to buy all of the presets they didn't want. The presets I have are at least 5 years old.

Ok, the one micrometer on my workbench has dead batteries and the other one is MIA. I will just go ahead and send them to you, I have 18 tie straps and 8 with the rivets.

As for the processor chain, is it .040 .080 (instead of .063)?

CAT525 has some ?Carlton? ( I think)

No ,I don’t need any . I might have some pre-sets . At 50" sounds like you need 2 sets of them?

My supply from 20+ years finally disappeared. I don’t do that much 404 but like to have parts on hand for when one comes in.
I had just enough to make a couple chains that I needed.

I came across a partial roll and looking to put a few chains together.
