Found some wood screws that were the right thread, 1/4-20 had to trim them to the right length, .875" wasn't too much trouble. Front handle is now solidly mounted to the saw.

So, I will have to see if I have a bar and chain laying around to test the saw.

Still seeing a bit blurry when what I am trying to read is more than 6 inches from my face.

Finally got new glasses, so I can see now.

Anyhow, was working on this saw for a while today, finally got a tune set decently. Sounds strong, turns good rpm too. Fires right up. I did add seafoam to the gas mix to help clean the carb a little better. It worked like a charm getting the circuits in the carb clean, tune changed a lot as it ran.

Have to figure out a way to get the high side screw to not turn on its own while the saw is running. Thinking some washers under the spring? Not sure I have washers that small.

Will post a video soon of it running.

Try stretching the spring. I have a 3700 that went rich after about 20 minutes of cutting. I think shims under the spring might not let the needle close (no big deal) but you won't be sure how far out you are.

Usually the limiter caps keep them from turning.
