Got my first attempt at raising transfers coming up soon, without an angle handpiece to make it more tedious than it already is.
If your budget will ever allow. I can definitely recommend getting one of the @srcarr52 90 degree grinders it is awesome. I have only done about 4 cylinders with mine but I would not be without it for porting now. Way better than the cheap junky one I had that was too big to even get into the ports before.

Been tempted to do that. Probably will if I fubr this little 026 44mm with little cutoff wheels on a straight foredom.

Sounds kinda silly to possibly wreck a 100 dollar cylinder because you don’t want to buy the 250$ tool until you mess it up. So out a cylinder plus the tool money or just buy the tool?

Take it easy. It's not a $100 cylinder it's a $35 cylinder and it's not your $35.

Looks like you got it done with the cut off disks. Now just to see how it runs
Yeh, they worked very well on the sides, roof was slow going but I was raising it 10 degrees. 90% of the work was cutting base, squish and piston.
Will see how it runs tomorrow.

Dealing with a few little things. Janky on/off switch, stuck chain tensioner, muffler mod, .060 of freeporting.
Thanks for asking
I wouldn’t worry about free-porting on the bottom. Anyone that’s done it says those are some of their better running saws. It’s better than JB weld flaking off the floor

Good to know. I'll run it without it and leave it as is if it runs well. At some point I'd think there could be too much. How would the saw run if there was too much?

I don’t really know that it’s a thing. With a big enough hole in the muffler there’s not much back pressure to speak of 🤷🏽‍♂️

The exhaust side of the crankcase should have fairly neutral pressure at TDC, probably slightly positive instead of vacuum, due to the inertia of the intake air slamming against the far wall. If the exhaust port also has some back pressure from the muffler, I doubt much flow will exchange.

Doe this make sense?

It does. Could intake air freeport and drop crankcase pressure before there's back pressure from the muffler or maybe get scavenged by the muffler?
