I recently watched some how to porting videos on YouTube that were specific to the Husqvarna 390xp. I was inspired to fire up the grinder and let er rip. Don't think i would call it art but definitely better than my YouTube instructor.

I’d call that art. Beautiful work!

Have request for two port clean ups, muff mod and gasket match on 361's. Need to get a muffler done and sent out this week.
Just ran someone else's saw today and commented on it running very good. John says... it should you built it years ago :nusenuse:

His 046 is coming in now. New OEM piston. Very little port work 120 101 78. Gutted muffler dp. It went like stink in white oak today. 101ll aviation fuel 32-1 Stihl ultra *s-word with 91dl full comp 3/8 050 RS round. Its ready for square one day and my 32" Sugi with 3/8's 063 RS square and some 90 octane with VP @ 40-1. See what it's really got. Stihl jug with decomp blows 180. No machine work... base gasket delete 518 0.018

Started cleaning up to ports on a few cylinders last week. One was all beat up from me using the wrong tools on it last year.

Have to get on the cell to load some ruff :icon_domokun: in pics of a few jugs

I like to call it port correction, first. Then go back for more marks.
To be continued but not by much. These jugs were never intended to be ported... just cleaned up and some minor port changes or corrections if you will. My gasket match almost never matches the gasket doing this. No need to imo. Work saws20200206_123357.jpg 20200206_123402.jpg 20200206_123428.jpg 20200206_123455.jpg 20200206_123519.jpg

My 084
Beat it up pretty good last year.... used the wrong tool. It all buffed right out. Does not matter in the bottom on the sides. Do that to the upper transfer area and you will need a replate or another jug. Ask anyone who acually cares about the rings riding on that bore surface area.

The other side.

One wall is pulled back if you look closely. It was filled with pot hole marks. You can see the two still there I dug out to be filled in with JB. This opposite wall needs to be moved or that one gets filled in. If I do fill it in, I'm doing both sides out to the turn and up to the plating. Rather not though... it's a milling jug. Running it like this first with the intake needing corrections. The ports are all wide. Not much to gain there for my use. The intake has an issue I do believe. That will be dealt with later with some JB. I want to run it first like this. Checking the transfers in the morning. I'm just looking for the number. Might clean the roofs might not.

Carb work has started. One 660 is near done ruff in. Ran it. Crispy!

084 needs and air filter setup first. Then lighten up the carb for heavy lifting :pesas:

That is most definitely art, takes a lot of time and skill to get a finish in ports like that. Right up there with the best I’ve seen...very nice work
