I hear they are really good saws to work with Al.

Also hear the newer 462s were revised to provide more grunt. How different are they?

Hi Mike. Hope all is well with you.

Other guys could answer this better than I. I believe they came with a lower factory exhaust roof than the first version. There were some case, other cylinder and piston mods as well. They changed the intake side of the jug and piston as well because of the cracking issues.

Ported, I haven’t noticed much difference at all.

Nice to see you post Austin. cylinder looks good I bet it will be strong.

two tips,
If you put tape on the parts you don't want to be ground on you can limit the slips onto the plating. Sometimes its more important than others.

Jb weld works but may fail. I have had good luck repairing with aluminum solder as long as the plating is not on the other side. like the scenario you have there.

When do we get to see the vids?

Thanks David! I hope it runs well! And I never thought about that tape trick before! Most of that was when i ground that cylinder the first time abouutt 3 years ago ish???
And I will most definitely look into that aluminum solder… i miiiggght be able to pick some up at Harbor Freight after work or swing into my local carquest/ advance auto and see if they have it.. but maaannn that would be absolute teets if I could find some.
And Itll be a couple days probably… gotta let the 1184 do its thing and my ring that i ordered came 4 days late….. ill get started on it tonight and tomorrow ill get the first start recorded and everything. Then go out and find some decent wood for testing.
