the 309 guy does base, band, intake, exhaust, and upper transfers all in the machine. Has some special tools made to do 90% of the uppers then hand blends. I did some dyno pulls on his 500i and it is very respectable.

He should add the transfer work to the descriptions as it only mentions intake and exhaust.

50cc sawfest build. Trying some 3 cube stuff in it to try and out run those pesky 550xp.... if it works I'll build a true 3 cube off this chassis.

Work looks sweet, @Red97! I ran one a few years back and ran very well for a 60cc saw. I cant even imagine how they run when they are ported.

Man the smaller cylinders are a little but of a pain in the rear end sometines haha.. 346xp 44.3mm. I moght have to pick up one of those fancy micro head RAs from Scarr Engineering one of these days. But i fixed some nasty nasty divots (from the first time I ground on this cylinder) in the primaries and tried to make that a nice smooth “ramp” and/or “transition” from the duct to the upper and window if you will..

How are you and yours doing??? I really miss the good old GTGs!

I'm doing well, just getting a little older and slower. Been doing a lot less cutting and have so many good running saws I just don't seem to have the appetite for any new projects! As a result, my small horde of 046/460/066/660 OEM cylinders remain in storage for future emergencies!

New projects up at my hunting cabin int the Catskills (50 acres of Mtn top off the grid) seem to consume my free time.

Helped my nephew (MechanicMatt) get some firewood a few weeks ago (mostly from a large White Oak). My two Hybrids, both with 28" light bars, were the star performers (one by Doc Al, one by CFB). They made quick work of the tough stuff.

Then used my ported Asian 660 (Cross Cylinder, dynoed at 8.6Hp) to quickly noodle some of the larger rounds.

Were doin good Mike!! The adult life has caught up to me a lil bit and kinda been outta saws for a while is all. And I miss the GTGs too! Dad and I are planning on going down to PA next year, gonna be a good time.

Its good to hear your doin good! Havent seen ya in a while! And yeah I feel ya on the project thing.. I kinda found out what is working well and just applied it to all my other saws I guess. And some of them needed ALOT of fixing to say the least.. but we live and learn.

And holy cow!! I kinda wish I had a few extra cylinders layin around for experimentation. Or like you said… just in case cylinders!

There aint nothin wrong with a project like that! Out there in the woods just chilling out, man that sounds like a heck of a good time to me!
