Sorry Don, you just left yourself open there!

I'm still drooling over your knife building, how is it going?

I just got the 2 Grandsons their first pocket knives (on my birthday) to get them started and to teach safety, they are 7 & 9. Actually got them the little Stihl folders, not very expensive, and they have a pretty good edge. We then made some marshmallow sticks. Maybe someday they will graduate to your stuff!

So how you know you didn't just make it slower? Serious question.
Too many reputable builders on here already made statements that a 346 is one saw that needs porting. With the #s I used, tank vent mod, 359 intake system, 199 carb, and a gasket delete theres no way it will be slower

Another reservation I have about porting mine is I am still a dremel warrior. Those smaller cylinders make things a bit trickier...I have a secret stash slowly growing to pick up a foredom with associated tooling...Slow and steady as it goes. Sorry about the hijack...carry on

Foredom with a # 28 handpiece, doublecut bit, high speed with very light pressure and keep the bit moving

How long ago did you do em at 101? I hope mine isn't one of them. ;)

Yours is at 105/122/78.

Andyshine brought a 346 he ported out to a gtg at Wiggs place the year we did the 066 build off. We did a 346 build off that same year. Just in cants instead of big wood. His saw just spanked the heck outta all of our saws. Of course, I started copying his numbers. :D

Nice lookin work Keith.

Not all stock 346's were created equal. Andyshine's stocker is a runner. I have 2 with just a muff mod and that's the way they are staying. Then again the 1st one I ran stock many yrs ago was an absolute dud. Even after a muffler mod it was just barely ahead of a bone stock 260.
