I was just debating putting an 18" Sugi on the new 261 but was worried about the 3/8 being too much. I have a 3/8 7 pin somewhere that I believe will fit it. I may just try both and see what I like the best. Then it may go to Randy and get tuned up.

I thought the 261 was for your son???

I have all my 50cc saws set up with .325x 18" and have most running a 8 pin sprocket, the MOFO 026 gained a good bit by going 8 pin over the 7 pin, and the 3x 2153/346 models seem to like it just fine too, they have plenty of speed to spare a little to gain the torque the 8 pin gives, but a 7 pin does really well on them as well.

I got the Dr Al 026 with 16" .325, converted it to square, and very happy with how it is. My 60 + 70 cc saws run 20" 3/8. Nice balance, and light weight for limbing.

The 550 Randy did for me runs an usually runs an 18 inch bar. 325" Full chisel/Square ground chain. I've only had a seven pin rim on it, but now I'm tempted to put an 8-pin on there. Should have the huevos to pull it. It's getting due for a new rim anyways…

I'd put an 8 on and not bat an eye

I like the torque of the smaller .325 rim....but the chain speed, less cutters and full 3/8 chassis can work well too. The best answer is have both and run what you feel like running.
I'm gonna get some small mount 9pins from DD

They should do , the 026 has the regular small spine, I have 2x MS261's with that friggin 'micro' size spline which I hate.
