I would like to start a thread for providing measurements of cylinders, pistons, and gaskets. This is with the intent of seeing what's close of other models and what isn't without spending a lot of money on something that doesn't work. How close to the original measurements should be at the discretion of the assembler. If clarification is needed of a part, ask in the thread or message. I will add more as time permits. If all you have is one part, add it. You don't need everything to add a model.

I'll start with something odd, a Partner 7000, OEM parts. Here is a picture of what I have.. the wrist pin is 12mm, piston height from bottom of skirt to the top of the piston is 40mm + 2.2mm for the dome with a total height of 42.2mm. Sorry I missed that.

Excellent idea. I'll get measuring. I'd be interested in the dimensions of a 3120xp.

Is AM good enough reference? I expect it to be at least mentioned as an AM reference.

True, after market and manufacturer would be a good idea. I added that to my post.

A list of desired measurements would be of help so that everyone measures the same dimensions.
Something like the OP's drawing devoid of measures so it can be printed?!

I do not build saws, as such I do not know which measurements are desired.

Like a drawing of a piston with all dimensions labeled: dimension A, B, C, etc. I see where you are going with that. I think @kneedeepinsaws was suggesting a similar idea as well.

It would be nice to have a standard dimension sheet, a drawing of piston and cylinder with blank spaces marked for each place to measure would be nice, so people can just copy the sheet/image, write in their measurements without forgetting any, and post it.

Ok, did I leave anything out that needs to be added? Or, is there measurements here that don't need to be there?

Unless I'm missing something, maybe distance from pin to crown.

Gotcha covered. I didn't make that measurement from the center of the wrist pin, I went from the top.

I found this pic of a 070 piston from aliexpress & ebay

58MM-Piston-Assy-Piston-Rings-Pin-Fits-For-STIHL-070-090-Chainsaw-OEM-1106-030-2000.jpg_q50.jpg

Sumbuddy told me they had a 13mm pin, but if the piston really is 53.3mm tall, that's too tall for my project anyway. I'm glad I didn't buy one. Looks like pin center to skirt is about the same as a 395, but way taller above.

I have a box of pistons to add, I haven't had time, that one is not one of them. Sorry.
