Yes and yes. BTW, I Anchor Seal the ends of the logs as soon as I buck them. It dries clear/translucent so you can't see it in the pictures. I try to run stickers every 18-24" as in the small stack in the picture below. Not my first rodeo. I've made at least 20 MBF of lumber off my property over the last 15 years. My system works and I get very flat and stable lumber in the end.I would suggest adding more stickers and painting the ends to prevent checking.

That's about the limit for air-dried here, too. Beyond that, I send it to a kiln to finish to 6-8%, if it will be used inside for flooring, furniture, cabinets, etc. Some day, I want to build a solar kiln, so I can do it all myself.What is your drying process?
