A number of years ago a gent from California, Adam Clark modified a P-100 and sent it to another ,Scot .forgot his last name .The only modified one I had ever seen .In machining the cylinder base it had decreased the time the relief port was opened and the exhaust port had been raised it was all I could do to pull it over . Never got it started for some reason .That was near Meadville Pa .where evidently Partner was popular at one time and 3 or 4 showed up at that GTG .I'm almost certain the two I have are the only ones in this area .

Port T is professionally called, even a manufacturer's bulletin describing this change was issued
I’m new to Partner, chainsaws too! I reached out to another fellow who’s helped me in the past. He clued me in, looks like I’ll have one of each. The other one I have has the divider in the exhaust port but no decomp or provision for one. Not sure what to think of that but it’s not too tough to start, for me, for now.
I do think they are built quite sturdy and I actually do like the looks of them. I’ve had an R16 for years that I’ve just called the “Swedish Toaster” ,lol , but the reason I bought it was because I thought it was good looking. I guess we were just meant for each other.

McCulloch employed a similar feature on their PM800 family of saws, and on some of the 600 Series models as well. They called theirs a "Q" port.

Some place I have a Mac 805 plus an 850 cylinder .To tell the truth I don't remember if they had Q ports or not but they both had poppet type decomps .If either one does I'll snap a picture .I also have a pic on one of my cameras they should show the exhaust port of one of the P-100 cylinders if I can find it .

If this shows up you can just barely see the relief port

This relief port business brings up another question .Because you take compression readings on a static condition it would make sense they could appear a tad low with a relief port .Under dynamic conditions they obviously would rise .For example although my two Partners only show a tad more than 130-135 PSI and I would have thought should be around 150-160 forgetting about the relief port .That said they both run very well .

Certainly, with an increase in revolutions, the blow-through time and the amount of air that affects the compression decrease

Therefore, an engine that has 90psi, if it only starts during operation, will increase the compression and will also run, of course, with less power

I'm not certain what Partner might say about static compression but Stihl I think says around 100 PSI is good to go .

Amazing I found the 850 cylinder in the second box of Mac stuff I opened .I think this might be a Q port .At any rate it appears to offer a little relief because the roof of the port is curved to some degree .
This cylinder is one I tried on the 805 that had bad chrome and I cooked the piston by using a straight gas prime .Massive screw up on my part from not paying attention .This cylinder will clean up and I have enough parts to make another 82 cc engine after I find a piston .It's kind of a back burner project at the moment

A S50 followed me home today. Definitely needs a new bar/chain, sprocket, and still looking through it. Has OK compression pulling it over, BUT has NO Spark20220721_175650.jpg 20220721_175659.jpg 20220721_175712.jpg ...

Edited for no spark.

Is there some way to test the factory coil on a S50? Further testing shows no spark. The Coil has p/n: (505?) 325030 (other cross referenced #'s JONSERED PART #506027201, 506027202, 506027206)
I did try 2 new plugs and used a spark tester, no sparky.

I could use a service manual for this saw. Does anyone have a spare copy.
Thanks in advance. nbb_

All fluids had been drained long ago. No odor of fuel and zero oil in the tank either.
The drive sprocket is toast as previously suspected.

Make sure the kill switch and/or the wire is not shorted out to the coil

The drive sprocket. Will need as soon as the sparky issue is figured out.
Would prefer to get a replacement with a replaceable sprocket. Any good suggestions?
