OEM 272 Cylinder compared with Hyway Titanikel 272

@Drf256 Al, I know this is an old thread, when did they stop using Mahle jugs on the 272? I have ordered 2 new P&C kits and they have both been decomp KS, but look really nice.

I haven’t the slightest idea. I’ve only done one 272, ran pretty well.

I wanted to get the 52mm 272 jug onto a 262XP but never found the time.

Is machine work required? I was told it wouldn’t fit.

but a 26? (Unsure last number) is a direct swap

A 262. 48mm stock.

There is no cylinder extension for the 262 jugs, so I was going to see if I could make a spacer or machine the extension off (or a combo thereof).

Oddly enough, a Stihl 038M 52 mm jug bolts right on to it. Another project I just don’t have the time for.

A guess and only a guess... thinking that it would be when production resumed in Brazil. I have no factual insider basis to come to this determination, other than that history.

I think you are right. I have a NIB OEM 272 p&c. It says made in Brazil on the box

The other box was kinda ratty, so I tossed it, but think it was a Sweden part as well.

The one I bought for myself last year box says Sweden. Really strong runner stock. Had perfect .020 squish with base gasket. I think I got it from HL Pro parts for a good deal. The uppers look different than that used one drf256 posted pics of and sold to me.

Mahle, Kolbenschmidt, and Giordani all made cylinders for Huskies as OEM parts.
