This thread reminded me of a hay baler I fixed. It had been hit by a car in the chute. Was declared a total loss.

I cut the chute off of a John Deere baler and grafted it onto the New Holland. Worked like a charm.

Which is lucky, coz one of Randy's best days was when he sold his conventional baler.Excellent. The deere part probably tripled the value lol.

I like New Holland hay liners, my uncle had one and we put up 5500 squares a year and his 455 hay liner hardly ever had issues or missed a knot. He kept it cranked down too 80-100 pound squares.
I haven’t kept up on it but last I knew New Holland became part of case. CNH and the guys I know still love them. Used to like the old stuff they had when Ford owned them seemed real well builtI have zero experience with new Holland implements. I do have more than one family member / friend with bad experience with their tractors since Fiat.
Guess I bevy realized fiat had their hands in it from the point case acquired new holland.I haven’t kept up on it but last I knew New Holland became part of case. CNH and the guys I know still love them. Used to like the old stuff they had when Ford owned them seemed real well built
Me too just kinda thinking more about them now that my kids are older, not a lot of people have heard of hodaka even though they were made for quite awhile and made some very good trials bikes.Cool. I like bikes.
Chrome or orange tank? They had the hotter 100cc engine in them with a better pipe than what my uncles road toad had. Also made the 80 dirt squirt, 90 ace, 100 ace, 125 wombat and combat wombat, 175 sl and 250 ed thunderdog.
I could see that, little different class of bike. The combat wombat 125’s had a little more grunt. Fuji made all the hodaka engines. Kinda funny how many 2 cycles Fuji made and now they don’t make anything but Subaru cars. The built all polaris star engines from 1971-1997 along with all the polaris atv’s engines same time period. Also built these hodaka engines and several other smaller snowmobile manufacturers engines plus golf carts ect.Chrome tank. Was a cool old bike. But I wound up with a YZ100 and the Super Rat wasn't as fun.
I think my dad still has his 1976 yz100. I remember trying to find a few parts for it being very difficult. Pretty much everything was toast on it. Engine had who knows how many hours. I doubt it was ever rebuilt. Had hardly any compression left but it wouldn't die. Gotta do some work to my 1989 cr125. Just got new fork seals and bushings in the mail today. I got that bike in 2009. Was a basket case... had to split the case and rebuild the crank. Found a sleeved cylinder for it on Ebay and it needed bored 1mm over. Let my friend borrow it and he damn near killed himself. He was riding on asphalt with it balls out in 6th gear and hit a pregnant whitetail. He broke his arm and was covered in road trash. Bike didn't fair to well as it bent the wheel, forks and buckled the frame. Luckily I had a parts bike I bought years ago. Pretty much just needs seals and bushings installed to be ride able again. I have a 2015 rmz450 but, I still like my old beater crChrome tank. Was a cool old bike. But I wound up with a YZ100 and the Super Rat wasn't as fun.
Last thing is painting the plastic air filter cover with the yellow the powder coating was matched to.

Apply the custom decal made by John @41FanForLife from pictures and measurements I sent him.

And last was a couple coats of clear to seal the decal in hopes it stays there.

I'll be letting this cure in the house fir quite some time before installing it. Once installed I'll mount up the bar and get a final pic or two. What comes after that, well probably more setting and polishing than using it but have no fear, it will get run time at least a couple times a year. One for sure at Kevins GTG in East Jordan.

Randy, I was the proud ( maybe a little unlucky) owner of a Hodaka 125 Super Combat Wombat back in the early 80's. It belonged to my step dad. It taught me to respect ( read=mind numbing fear) old 2stroke dirt bikes and kick starting the beast. Boy that sucker could fly. Bent the forks jumping a spillway at the lake in our neighborhood.I had a Hodaka Super Rat when I was a teenager. Pretty cool bike.
