Like a Harley it needs to leave it's mark
...on a clean concrete floor?
I'm going to have to give this a shot. The double sided foam tape didnt work. Its pissing oil. I enlarged the bar oil holes thinking if it had less resistance to get into the bar it would help but not the case. Unfortunately I probably wont have time to dive into it before I take it to MI for Buckin Stock. If I do it's going to be a long night.Common problem. Take the oil pump off, seal the inlet and outlet hose on either side. I also seal the large part of the hose that seals to the case. Be careful not to clog anything. I used black RTV. Everything has to be squeaky clean (oil free)
I’ve had the issue w my 357. Took everything apart, cleaned very well and used good sealant. It works for a while. Eventually back to weeping. So I replaced the rubber lines. I’ve been using the saw a lot lately and it is completely leak free. I’m chalking it up as a consumable part. Owned the saw since new in ‘11 and that’s the first time I replaced them. I did make sure that bracket squeezes the square part tight. Used OEM parts too.I'm going to have to give this a shot. The double sided foam tape didnt work. Its pissing oil. Um not any of my stihls and they sit in the hall way for 6 months over summer . I have never had a stihl leak now my 2 husky I called them Exxon valdez 1 and 2 (262xp 390xp) they leaked more than a drunken sailor ......Temperature changes create pressure in the oil tank and oil ooz out. Both stihl and husky sips. I dont say leak, but they sips a table spoon or so when stored for months.
Hm... I own a few low hour stihls, will sip a few drops a month from the adjust screw. My new 462 didn't run in yet and sip like 5 drops from 4 months of ownership. I drain the fuel but not oil, more than half full.Um not any of my stihls and they sit in the hall way for 6 months over summer . Yeah, that's not the case. I have other saws that will get run time right along side my 2159 and not leak any oil like the 2159 does. All the same environmental conditions too. Its definitely a rubber issue.Temperature changes create pressure in the oil tank and oil ooz out. Both stihl and husky sips. Did you add sealant to the new lines during replacement?I’ve had the issue w my 357. Took everything apart, cleaned very well and used good sealant. It works for a while. Eventually back to weeping.
