I am way too chicken to use super glue. I had a great time getting all the rtv cleaned off.
I of course hate the leakage when it happens, but the parts are far from expensive. If I have to replace them every couple years, so be it. Like mentioned, keep that bar plate pushing hard on the flat part that touched the pump to create a tight seal.I am with Wolverine. Just had to re-visit this. Back at square one: new hoses and no goop. So far, so good, but only a few tanks... piss me off!
Hm... I own a few low hour stihls, will sip a few drops a month from the adjust screw. My new 462 didn't run in yet and sip like 5 drops from 4 months of ownership. I drain the fuel but not oil, more than half full.
Is it for all 3 position pumps? Meaning did they all get the updated grooves/rings (I know not all the same lines)? We have a jonnyred 2150 that's weeping.Guys, sorry I didn't see this the first time around. There was a service bulletin and the fix should just be a new oil line. They added some sealing grooves/rings to the line so it seals to the tank better. Occasionally even the new line can get old and not seal that good and need replacement. Had a 346 in last week with a bad leak. New line; problem solved. 357/2159 and newer 346/2153 all use the same line. Exception are the very early 346/351/2149 saws that have their own line, and even a different crankcase making them not interchangeable. Plastic case saws like the 350's naturally use different lines than the metal case saws.
I refuse to be defeated by a machine! Just my nature. No telling how much it has cost me over the years. The simplest solution is to drain the bar oil when the saw is not going to be used for a while.
No, the simplest solution is to fix it and not bandaid it by draining the oil after each use. The bigger concern is the oil isnt reaching the bar and chain to lubricate it properly. The simplest solution is to drain the bar oil when the saw is not going to be used for a while.
Thanks, I was planning on calling my dealer today and asking him for the updated part number and getting it on order. I'm probably going to replace the other section of it as well... 537 09 18-01The hose I bought, which is not leaking...is 537 10 11 02
I paid 12.95
My husky dealer won’t play nice when it comes to giving any discount. I live in a college town, so his life is pretty much dealing with *a-holes all day, every day.
Yeah, I replaced everything including the pump. I was so pissed off I just brought the house! I do think the supply hose would have done the trick, but I studied the heck out of it and couldn’t see where it was leaking for sure. Thanks, I was planning on calling my dealer today and asking him for the updated part number and getting it on order. Maybe that's been updated as well?
When I don’t use Bob I use parts tree.comMine isnt a small leak anymore. When you let it sit and a quart drains out its more than a small leak. When your running it and see oil coming out of the bar plate area it's more than a small leak. At some point it makes sense to fix the saw especially since there was a service bulletin and they have upgraded parts. It use to be a nuisance but now it's a PITA!
Parts on order! Unfortunately the shop just recently made their Husky parts order so it's going to be more than a week. I may cancel and order online.
My local Stihl dealer is owned by a childhood friend/neighbor. I've been up for chains, wedges, plugs, bunch of parts for that 038 I redid etc. I stopped going because he would budge from full retail. Greedy bastage. The hose I bought, which is not leaking...is 537 10 11 02
